Your Personal Penguin by Sandra Boynton is a about a cute little penguin who wants to be the helper for a nice, big hippo. The penguin wants to go everywhere and do everything with the hippo, and be there for him all the time. He keeps pestering the hippo and very nicely asks with a please if he can help. I think a personal penguin is a great idea, if he ever asks me, I’ll say, “yes”.
I like dinosaurs, and learning about them. For instance, I didn’t know that dinosaurs clean up after themselves. How Do Dinosaurs Clean Their Rooms? By Jane Yolen and Mark Teague is a story that asks a lot of questions about dinosaurs cleaning up their bedrooms. Luckily, all the questions are answered at the end of this book.
The little llama in Llama Llama Mad at Mama by Anna Dewdney is relatable because we both would rather play than go shopping. He has to go to the big box store with his mama to buy food, clothes, and shoes. His mama promises a treat for afterwards, but after awhile, the llama has had enough with the shopping excursion and throws a tantrum in the store. That’s when mama and llama decide to work together to help get the shopping done. He gets his treat too!

I love the Llama Llama books too. Especially Llama Llama Red Pajama.
